How to debug and start the dissolved air flotation system

2025-04-27
The following are the general steps for debugging and starting the dissolved air flotation system:
1. Equipment inspection
Before starting, it is necessary to comprehensively check all the equipment in the system, including the dissolved air tank, flotation tank, water pump, air compressor, scraper, releaser, etc., to ensure that the equipment is firmly installed, the connecting pipes are leak-free, the valves are opened and closed correctly, the lubrication and cooling systems of each equipment are normal, the electrical connections are good, and the grounding is reliable.
2. Clean water debugging
Inject clean water into the system, start the water pump, and circulate the clean water in the system. Check the operating status of the water pump, including pressure, flow, motor current, etc., to ensure its normal operation. At the same time, observe whether there is water leakage in the pipeline, valve and other parts. If there is leakage, repair it in time. In the dissolved air tank, adjust the pressure to the design value, generally 0.3 - 0.5MPa, check the sealing and stability of the dissolved air system, and ensure that the air can be dissolved in the water normally.
3. Flocculant addition debugging
Prepare the flocculant solution according to the design requirements, and gradually add the flocculant to the influent during the clean water circulation process. By adjusting the dosage, observe the flocculation effect and determine the optimal flocculant dosage. Generally, you can start with a lower dosage, such as 50mg/L, and gradually increase it until a good floc structure is formed and the effluent water quality reaches the best. At the same time, pay attention to the effects of flocculation reaction time and stirring intensity on the flocculation effect and optimize the reaction conditions.
4. Aeration debugging
Start the air compressor, pass air into the dissolved air tank, adjust the air flow and pressure, and make the air in the dissolved air tank reach saturation. Observe the working condition of the dissolved air water releaser to ensure that the released tiny bubbles are uniform and fine, and the particle size meets the requirements, generally 20-50μm. If the bubbles are uneven or too large, check the pressure, water level and blockage of the dissolved air tank, and make corresponding adjustments and cleaning.
5. Sludge debugging

After the clean water debugging and flocculant and aeration debugging are normal, introduce the sewage to be treated. Gradually increase the sewage inflow until the designed treatment capacity is reached. At the same time, pay close attention to the formation of scum in the flotation tank, changes in effluent water quality, and operating parameters of each device. According to the actual situation, adjust the parameters such as flocculant dosage, dissolved air water return ratio, and scraping cycle in time to make the system reach the best operating state. During the commissioning process, it is necessary to continuously monitor water quality indicators such as suspended solids, COD, BOD, etc. to ensure that the effluent water quality meets the discharge standards.
